As the Occupy Wall Street protests continue, I wonder how many know the role our government had in sparking the housing crisis that eventually crashed the whole economy.
Protesters appear quick to blame the folks on Wall Street, sometimes incorporating antisemitism in their rhetoric, something I find especially harmful and upsetting. What many may not know is that congress pushed Fannie and Freddie to buy risky loans, making congress culpable, not the banks that followed orders (Mayor Bloomberg explains).
For those who want the government to now fix the problem that they created, I must ask, why do you trust them to tinker with our economy even more?
Check out the video below. It details the warnings that were abundant along the way and how congress fought against corrective action, pretty insightful.
Very Good! DemoncRAT corruption centered on cooking up this whole scheme. Republican NEGLIGENCE centered on no shouting about it to the American people until it couldn’t be ignored. A plague on both their houses. SHAME!
